Pfizer Recognizes Colorpak With 2003 Supplier of the Year Award

Melbourne, Australia – April 6, 2004 - Colorpak, a leader in specialty packaging, has been recognized for the outstanding quality of its products and service with the 2003 Supplier of the Year Award in the Manufacturing category by Pfizer Perth.

The family-owned business, which supplies predominantly short-run, folding carton packaging for some of the best-known brands in the pharmaceuticals, healthcare, cosmetics, confectionary and other consumer goods sectors, supplies specialist pharmaceutical packaging to Pfizer Perth, predominantly for its hospital products.

Colorpak Managing Director Alex Commins said the company was thrilled to receive the award. ”This is something we’ve been focusing on over the long term,” said Mr Commins. “Quality and integrity in everything we do and make is what drives us. To have this recognition is a thrill and an honor.”

The Pfizer Perth Supplier of the Year Award is an annual award, which rewards the Company’s suppliers in three categories: Manufacturing, Agents and Services. This year’s award was on a theme of “We Will Satisfy Our Customers 100 percent of the Time”.

Suppliers have their performance tracked and measured over time and are assessed for quality, punctuality and supply. This award is also about rewarding those who are prepared to go the extra yards to support outcomes linked to certain behaviours and objectives that make up the key areas assessment.

Colorpak’s results showed outstanding commitment to quality and delivery, as well as support on pricing. Their results are a measure of performance throughout the year and were of an exceptionally high standard. Colorpak’s measures on the key areas performance also rated extremely high.

With annual sales of around $50 million, Colorpak derives 45 percent of its total turnover from the pharmaceutical sector. The company has been supplying Pfizer Perth for about two years.

Headquartered in Melbourne, Colorpak has operations in Melbourne and Sydney and is a member of the Global Packaging Alliance (GPA). In addition to the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, it provides packaging for iconic consumer goods brands, such as Gillette, L’Oreal, Cussons, Nestlé and Patties.

Over the past four years, Colorpak has been rated number one in the folding cartons sector of the BIS Shrapnel survey for customer satisfaction on key performance indicators relating to quality and value.

Colorpak recently announced its intention to list its shares on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX). It has lodged a prospectus with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and will apply for listing on the ASX.
