Hannover, Germany – May 7, 2007 - Since the beginning of this year the rlc packaging group has belonged to the Organic Electronic
Association OE-A. This working group of the German Machinery and Plant Manufacturing
Association VDMA is an international information and communication platform for developing production solutions with the aid of organic electronics.
Over 60 companies belong to it, covering the entire process chain in this promising field.
Through this involvement, rlc packaging group is taking the lead in the packaging industry
for promoting the integration of OE solutions in folding cartons.
Organic electronics hold enormous potential for implementing smart packaging making
electronic parts printable with polymers. In the near future, they could make it feasible to
inexpensively integrate RFID chips into the packaging process. Supported by rlc packaging group,
a prototype will be presented ath the Organic Electronics Conference in September in Frankfurt, Germany.
RFID technology is fast approaching the point where it can be implemented in product packages – and the rlc packaging group is in the vanguard.
