The French reverse tuck carton features a combination of foil stamping and embossing that augments the graphic design and creates a unique visual and tactile presentation.
The entire carton was offset printed with UV matte black and UV metallic silver ink in-line with a UV dull, stampable varnish, prior to being embossed with a pebble grain leather pattern.
Subtle accents, including a custom-designed silver embossed guitar pick on the top panel and an embossed, braided rope pattern around the perimeter of the carton, tie the brand to the iconic star.

Coty’s expertise in developing products that resonate with consumers is enhanced by aligning themselves with celebrities who are involved with the entire creative process. Diamond worked closely with the Coty design team from the beginning, ensuring that the packaging faithfully reflected the iconic fashion designer’s personality and style.
Diamond delivered by creating a package inspired by Vera Wang herself.
The unique carton sports a matte grey background, offset by the vivid orange of the Vera Wang Look logo.
The attractive graphics were achieved by offset printing multiple colors followed by dull stampable varnish and a UV gloss spot coating pattern that represents the brush stroke of the hand-drawn bottle.
An overall embossed pattern and an embossed logo on the front panel add dimension and complex textures to the presentation, reminiscent of the fragrance itself.

This package incorporates a novel, highly secure childproofing solution that also makes it suitable for high-dose medications. To pull the slider out of the package, two tabs must be simultaneously pressed into the box. Also after being pulled out, the slider and integrated blister card remain connected to the package. The high convenience factor of this packaging solution increases the reliability of medicinal therapies. Pharma DDS can be produced on standard cartoners.

The gifts sets were produced utilizing Kraftpak®, a high-yield, low density paperboard which offers a significant source reduction advantage compared to regular-density paperboard grades. The natural, unbleached packaging alternative is 100% recyclable and made from a renewable resource. It is also energy efficient and carbon-friendly on a per-carton basis.
Die cutting on the front panel leverages brand identity by allowing the products to show through. Perforated tags communicate pricing information at the time of purchase, yet can easily be removed prior to gift giving.
The colorful graphics were achieved by offset printing three special PMS colors and opaque white in-line with aqueous coating.
The cartons were produced using 100% renewable wind energy – a green energy source which provides the greatest environmental benefits. |

Accomplishments: Cold foiling opens entirely new design possibilities for package finishing. This innovative technology closes the gap between offset printing with metallic inks on the one hand and hot foil stamping on the other. As one of the pilot users in Europe, the rlc | packaging group is now making this innovative technology available to its customers in an inline UV process dubbed rlc | metal effects.
Several large projects of this kind have already been executed on a newly installed nine-color press with double UV coating plus an integrated cold foiling unit, including the launches of "Perfect Slim Laser" from L'Oreal and "Diadermine Body Perfect" from Schwarzkopf.
Cold foiling has propelled both into a new dimension of inline finishing. Extremely precise register enables very intricate structures, gradients and metallic effects in text and design elements. The technology also permits cost-effective implementation of a wide range of silver effects. For example, the "Diadermine" carton combines silver areas with bright white paperboard to create an especially elegant look that consumers associate with extraordinary quality. The L'Oreal carton features an additional inner chamber and stepped blind embossing.

Accomplishments: Nautica Voyage represents a brand that knows no boundaries. Their distinctive fragrances convey deep aquatic notes and marine florals. Their new My Voyage For Her line extension embodies these same qualities but with a touch of femininity and independence. Diamond’s task was to design a family of packaging for their Eau de Parfum sprays and marine enriched body wash that radiates the brand’s personality and instantly attracts consumers‘ attention in the retail environment.
All of the cartons feature a .018 SBS holographic foilboard complemented by foil stamping and embossing techniques.
The graphics were achieved by offset printing UV black, UV white, and one PMS color in-line with a UV gloss coating over the holographic portion of the carton. A dull stampable varnish was used on the lower white portion of the carton.
Overprinting the holographic foil with transparent blue ink creates a stunning visual effect, reminiscent of the cool, therapeutic waters of the French Atlantic.
The familiar Nautica logo was stamped with pink foil, connecting the product to the prestigious brand. Blue and pink foil stamped accents add further detail.
The bottom portion of the carton was stamped with opaque white foil and embossed with a crosshatch pattern, imparting a unique tactile and visual effect, reminiscent of sandy white beaches.

Accomplishments: The packaging for VeroChrome™ products has always incorporated a natural look, in part to differentiate it from competing products as well as its other product lines. Joico wanted to leverage this identity in any new carton design.
To better understand the customer’s requirements, members of Diamond’s technical team visited Zotos’ fulfillment center to assess the filling equipment and see it run with their current cartons. The inconsistent caliper and texture of the substrate used by another vendor caused the production lines to slow down due to problems related to openability and magazine release.
Diamond solved the problem by designing a carton printed on the reverse side of a special recycled board, made from 100% recycled fibers (minimum 55% PCR). The smooth texture of the satin aqueous-coated board enhances the fine line art reproduction and contributes to problem-free operation on the filling lines.
“Efficiencies increased over 100%,” said Michele Rago, Buyer/Planner at Zotos International. “The people that work on the line are ecstatic about the results from making this change.” |

A key requirement is to make finishes both cost-effective and reproducible on an industrial scale. The most popular trend at present, particularly for cosmetics and cosmeceuticals, is metallic and, above all, silver effects. The rlc | packaging group is focusing on increasing machine length instead of the number of machines.
A good example is the recent installation of a nine-color UV-press with double UV-coating at the Hannover plant of Leunisman GmbH.
This press configuration - the only one of its kind at present - is part of the company's 18 million euro investment program. The installation of a cold foil module enables the press to print highly finished products in a single pass, without additional embossing tools and without register problems during printing and finishing. As a result, large runs are possible with half the capacity and higher quality. |

The COPACO Group is the first European packaging maker to obtain permission to produce the new Stora Enso Pharma SHR packaging concept from Stora Enso and Bosch. Earlier last year rlc | packaging group's Leunisman plant in Hannover, Germany was accredited for it.
SHR stands for "small hands resistant". It is a childproof packaging solution made of tear-resistant board that is also easy for the elderly to use. The opening mechanism is adapted to the hand size of adults and can be opened merely by applying pressure and sliding it. There is therefore no need to additionally secure the blister cards, wallets or other components inside, which saves materials and work. This makes the concept ideal for high-dosage medications calling for enhanced protection from children.
Stora Enso Pharma SHR meets the European requirements of the ISO 8317 standard and satisfies the criteria for the F=1 classification, the highest in the United States. Stora Enso Pharma SHR is the result of a joint development effort. The Finnish carton maker Stora Enso supplies the designs and the board, while Bosch provides the machines and global services. For production and distribution, Stora Enso is also partnering with the COPACO Group and Bosch GmbH, which provides everything - from complete systems to individual modules - for making Stora Enso Pharma SHR. Stora Enso rigorously licenses production of the packages and use of the machines, which affords significantly better protection against product forgeries.

This COPACO member has been comissioned by Schwarzkopf & Henkel to develop and provide full service for the promotional packages for several brands.
Henkel has also pre-approved GPA member Diamond Packaging to produce these packages for the U.S. market, without any supplier auditing. This is an excellent example of GPA's ability to deliver localized service, identical product specifications and consistent brand recognition, resulting in unparalleled global packaging support.

rlc | packaging group combined a classically-glued folding carton with a subdued coating effect. Eight UV colors plus UV coating were laid down on top of a Iriodin® coating, all inline. It was just recently that rlc | packaging group extended its machine fleet by adding a second eight-color press with UV drying and double coating units. This increased the company's flexibility for handling eight-color jobs with different coatings; the Seborin folding carton is an excellent example.

The assignment was to position this product brand as an innovation. The packaging therefore had to be different from conventional folding cartons, highlight the theme of "water" and "oxygen", and provide a glimpse of the product. The Rob. Leunis & Chapman Group (rlc), a proven Gillette packaging partner, took care of central packaging management for the entire European product launch. The rlc group, which combines organizational competence with devotion to quality, used premium-finished materials, elegant designs and attractive shapes to effectively communicate the Fusion brand image in all packaging for this product range. The upmarket outfit: up to eight colors plus UV gloss coating on paperboard and PET, supplemented in some cases by blind embossing and silver hot foil stamping.

Brilliantwhite is a new, radical breakthrough in dental research and development, formulated to achieve improved oral health and an unprecedented degree of whiteness. Livingston-Short Hills Dental Associates, Inc, turned to Diamond Packaging to create a family of cartons that conveyed the product’s message of delivering a luminous, radiant smile.
Diamond delivered by utilizing structural and graphic techniques to create cartons that both functionally and stylistically surpasses any other similar products on the market.
The Step 1 (ActiGel) and Step 2 (ActiWhite) product cartons were designed with notch locks on the bottom closures due to weight considerations. The kit carton was designed with a reinforced auto bottom, and features a glued inner cell to keep all three products separated.
Invercote G paperboard was selected as it is designed for products and prestige packaging where an exceptional aesthetic result is desired. The printing side of Invercote G is triple coated and finished to a matte level, resulting in a very bright white printing surface perfect for conveying the image of the product
The subtle graphics were achieved by printing a single color (PMS# 286) with a special effects pigmented aqueous pearl coating. The blue-pigmented “Interference Coating” enhances the color of the ink and adds color shifting properties. The cartons were overcoated with stamp-able UV gloss coating, and then hot stamped with silver foil to enhance the overall graphic presentation.
The combination of ink, coating, and stamping perfectly conveyed the product’s message of delivering a luminous, radiant smile.

Coty Inc., the world’s leading fragrance company, aimed to create a holiday promotion that captured the spirit of the brand rugged masculinity, originality and independence. They turned to Diamond Packaging to create a gift set carton as bold and original as the product.
Diamond delivered by utilizing special techniques to elevate a standard tuck carton to an unprecedented level.
The French straight tuck carton features a combination of foil stamping and embossing that serves to augment the subtle graphic design. The entire front panel was stamped with gold foil, prior to printing and embossing. The embossed paisley pattern and Stetson logo above the top of the die cut window combine with a micro-embossed pattern around the perimeter of the carton to create a unique visual and tactile presentation, suggestive of the rugged individualism of the American West.
Die cutting on the front panel retains the rigidity of the carton and also leverages brand identity by allowing the products to show through. Perforated tags communicate pricing information at the time of purchase, yet can easily be removed prior to gift giving.
The stunning graphics were achieved by offset printing UV black, one PMS color, and UV metallic gold ink in-line with UV gloss coating. Metallic ink was printed over foil to complement the micro-embossed pattern around the perimeter of the carton.

They turned to Diamond Packaging to create a counter display that embodies the bold, modern spirit of the brand.
Diamond created a display that instantly draws consumers’ attention. The geometrically-inspired design combines a trapezoid shape with straight lines to convey a sense of dynamic energy. The inverted weight of the main panel contributes by visually communicating the sense of “bulking up”.
The fifth-panel structure integrates with the base on which the spray bottle is displayed, encouraging consumers to touch and hold the product. The stunning graphics, which were achieved by offset printing four-color process inks and one special color ink in-line with UV matte varnish, perfectly complements the color of the spray bottle.

The foil-laminated soft-touch surface provides a perfect stage for the spot-coated relief embossing. Snow crystals, modeled after the Montblanc trademark, and embossed snowflakes the size of a needle's eye practically beg you to run your finger over them.
A very effective job, requiring a combination of different techniques. Rob. Leunis & Chapman Group (rlc), which Montblanc already employed for other premium packaging projects, succeeded in implementing this ambitious concept in a minimum of time.

Diamond designed a carton where form follows function. The economical structure is converted as a glued, single piece with an integrated handle. The handle enhances consumer interaction and identifies the package as a comprehensive kit containing everything needed for creating stunning color effects.
Faithful reproduction of the five new shades on the carton required accuracy and repeatability. Diamond’s new Heidelberg offset press is equipped with advanced quality systems, including spectrophotometry, to ensure accurate color control throughout the press run. The glued folding carton sports a gracefully curved window without back-gluing, and is visually enhanced with UV spot coating. The matte white surface also features shiny silver embossing and hot foil stamping for metallic effects.

Before this, T-Mobile used a rather dull DVD cover made of PET as the outer packaging for the data cards. Now, thanks to the carton, the product has premium character: elegant white cartons with reduced graphics. Stylistic and CI-consistent. To cap it off, a gag is built in: a fold-out prop is die cut into the back so the carton can be stood up like a picture frame.

Accomplishments: A joint project by two COPACO companies is creating new effects for point-of-sale (POS). Rob. Leunis & Chapman Gruppe (rlc) has teamed up with pharmaceutical and label specialist Faller to develop a new premium packaging technique: printed windows!
Windows naturally remain windows, but the use of semi-transparent designs or full-tone text elements opens up new possibilities for presenting brands and products.
To accomplish this, windows are printed roller-to-roller using a UV flexographic process that is more commonly employed to produce self-adhesive labels. The key to positioning the motifs: the die-cutting machine scans the register and executes precise cuts, thus meeting the prerequisites for accurate gluing.
The advantages of strategic collaboration within the COPACO Group come into plain view in connection with projects that, like this one, break new ground. It was first launched by rlc, which decided to proactively address requests from customers for new package window effects. In this case, the printing expertise required to technically implement them was contributed by Faller.

The vibrant pink fragrance cartons feature two hits of pink, special flexo gold ink, and pearlized matte aqueous coating. Hot foil stamping and embossing further enhance the graphics. Flexo gold ink was applied in-line on Diamond’s new Heidelberg offset press equipped with a Flexokit chambered blade coating system. The Flexokit is optimized for metallic and pearl luster coatings, delivering denser coverage, with greater uniformity.

And it has successfully optimized processes for Berlin Chemie: exactly the same numbers of inserts and folding cartons are produced in seperate lines in response to customers order, pratically reducing stocks to zero.

Printed on both sides in five colors with UV ink, the package reflects the products' signature colors: sunny yellow for the ladies and cool blue for the gentlemen. RLC is also handling the work of packaging and filling the three-part sets, thus rounding out the packaging groups' full service with packaging mangement.
